Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) for Women in Fort Worth, TX
You don’t have to keep reliving the past.
"Why am I acting like this?"
How many times have you been lounging on the couch, watching your TV show of the moment, when you hear a song or see something that reminds you of a painful experience in your life? Suddenly you’re right back inside that memory as if it’s still happening right there in your living room.
There may be certain tones in your boyfriend’s voice or particular ways he touches you that cause you to snap into a version of yourself you don’t recognize—that feels completely out of your control. You might try to prevent yourself from reacting to these triggers this way, but the longer you push it down, the more the pressure builds like a volcano ready to erupt.
You might relish the days you have to work late because it means less time spent alone with your thoughts, replaying that moment over and over and over and over and over. You may have even moved cities, jobs, or apartments to escape the memories of what happened, and it was fine for a bit, but the past always comes crashing back through the walls like the Kool-Aid Man.
Or maybe the past hangs around in more subtle ways—weight gain or loss, a constant tightness in your chest, fatigue or brain fog that won’t clear with sleep or rest (I know, what’s rest?), or flashes of anger you fight to shove down. Maybe you don’t even fully remember what happened, even though your body clearly does.
At this point, you’ve done the hard work of surviving, and you’re ready to feel like you’re living life again. You may have tried to do that already with therapy, but retelling the story every week only brought it to the forefront without providing any relief. You’ve tried all the things, and you’re ready for something different.
ACCELERATED RESOLUTION THERAPY CAN HELP
ART is a rapid trauma processing method. In a 90-minute session, we’ll work through painful memories, fears, and internal blocks without you having to talk through the details out loud. You don’t lose the memory, but you replace the painful charge around it.
What it is. When something especially painful happens, your brain stores that memory with all the feelings still attached. ART gives your brain the chance to finally process that memory and file the experience away as “done,” so you stop reliving it in the present.
Why it works.I guide your eye movements during several rounds of processing with breaks in between to rest and nourish your body. You’re never required to say anything about the memory for this to work. By the end you get to create new associations of your choosing for the memory.
How it works.Accelerated Resolution Therapy provides immediate relief from the memories that continue to follow you, long after they’re over.
MY APPROACH & EXPERIENCE
I believe a woman should not have to re-traumatize herself by speaking the most horrific details of her life out loud if she doesn't want to.
I have a pretty significant history of complex trauma myself. There was a point where I couldn't leave my apartment. I would stay awake as long as possible, fully clothed with tennis shoes on, when I wasn't spending the night with my boyfriend. I slept during the day, which made it really hard to have a job, maintain relationships, or live my life as fully as my spirit desired to.
My survival response was strong, and it was trying to protect me, but it wrecked my physical health. I tried so many different methods to overcome my trauma, and ART was by far some of the most impactful work for me.
Unlike other trauma-informed methods, ART gives you control, autonomy, and the ability to process what happened without discussing anything you don't want to (or anything at all). Often, clients can find relief after one 90-minute session instead of spreading the work across weeks of emotional fallout. It's a chance to take back your power and give your mind and body relief. And you get to live your life out there instead of reliving your pain in here.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy can help you:
Feel immediate, long-term relief from the trauma you’ve been lugging around with you.
1
You figure out what relaxation looks like to you, and you’re actually able to do it and feel rested after. You sleep through the night without waking in panic every few hours, imagining the worst scenario that could ever possibly happen. Instead, you feel confident in your ability to trust your gut and your own intuition, without second-guessing whether you’re overreacting or distorting reality.
Remember who you are and figure out what you want.
2
You stop living a life everyone else expects of you because it’s “safer,” and start understanding what it is you want. You have the mental capacity to consider what gives you purpose and go after it, instead of living a life of going through the motions. You feel good about your unique journey and stop comparing your timeline and achievements to everyone else.
Build coping skills that fill your cup up instead of leaving you empty.
3
When you feel that twinge of anxiety or overwhelming emotion, you can soothe yourself without reaching for habits like skin picking or binging (on media, booze, weed, food, sex, or exercise). With time, choosing healthy coping skills becomes a habit that you do without thinking.
Return to your body and feel secure doing so.
4
You no longer feel like you want to escape your own skin. When you get tired, you recognize it and act on it before your body forces you to rest with illness, a flare-up, or a crash.

Frequently asked questions:
-
I consider ART to be EMDR without the hangover. EMDR focuses on reprocessing traumatic memories without creating replacement imagery. ART lets you choose what you would have wanted to happen. You take back your power and give your mind and body relief, usually in a single 90-minute session.
-
I hold a Master's in Professional Counseling and I'm certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I've trained extensively in trauma-focused modalities, including through the Somatic Wilderness Therapy Institute in Boulder for nature-based trauma work. I'm also certified in functional hormone health through the International Association for Functional Hormone Health, which informs how I approach the physical side of trauma.
My clinical experience includes working in intensive outpatient programs and at a nonprofit supporting individuals and families healing from trauma. ART is one of my primary treatment tools and I use it across a wide range of issues, from performance anxiety and imposter syndrome to complex trauma, childhood abuse, and complicated grief.
-
You won't. ART doesn't erase your memories. What changes is how your body responds to those memories. You walk away with the same story but without the painful charge attached to it. You take the wisdom and leave the weight of it behind.
-
Yes. That's one of the things I love about ART. I guide you through the process, but you don't have to share anything you don't want to. We only process what we know you're ready for, and we take breaks throughout to resource your body. If something unexpected comes up, we pause and check in. You're in the driver's seat the entire time. I'm just holding the map.
-
ART works well if you understand your patterns intellectually, but your body still responds to triggers and perceived threats. You don’t have to have tried therapy before to find ART beneficial.
It works for clients who have a specific memory, image, or experience that plays on repeat, complicated grief, intense performance anxiety, imposter syndrome, or past relationship trauma that's bleeding into your current relationship.
It works for clear memories and hazy ones. And it's a great fit if you don't want to discuss the traumatic details out loud to process them. You want efficient, effective relief without spending multiple sessions in talk therapy, DBT, CBT, or EMDR to recover.
-
ART requires dual awareness, the ability to stay grounded in the present room while briefly activating a past memory. If you experience severe dissociative episodes, fugue states, or active psychosis, you can't safely maintain that balance and ART isn't the right fit. Same goes for active and severe substance abuse, because you need medical stabilization first, and you can't be under the influence during a session.
If you're looking for traditional open-ended talk therapy to process weekly stressors, you'll find ART frustrating because it's highly structured, directive, and procedural.
You also have to want to do this. If you're highly resistant or rigid about the process, you'll struggle with it. Clients experiencing active suicidality or requiring frequent between-session crisis management need a higher level of care than I can provide in private practice.
-
Most clients feel significant relief after a single 90-minute session. Complex trauma may take more time. In general, I never expect my clients to stay in therapy forever because the ultimate goal is for you to be out there, living your best life, not spending all your time on the therapy couch.
-
Yes. I use ART for performance anxiety, imposter syndrome, complicated grief, bad breakups, friend breakups, phobias, binging behavior, and the kind of rumination where one memory or experience plays on repeat and you can't shut it off. When we desensitize life stressors, people, places, and things that have been hijacking you, you become more stress resilient. You stop getting taken out by what I call the same dumb shit problems you've been carrying around your whole life.
My clinical experience includes working in intensive outpatient programs and at a nonprofit supporting individuals and families healing from trauma. If it's still messing with you, it's enough. ART isn't reserved for the worst thing you can imagine. I use it for everything from complex childhood trauma to bad breakups to performance anxiety to imposter syndrome to binging behavior. If there's a memory, an experience, or a feeling that keeps replaying in your brain or showing up in your body, we can work with it. You don't need to rank your pain against anyone else's to deserve relief.
-
We can work with that. ART doesn't require you to have a perfectly clear, detailed memory of what happened. Some clients remember everything. Some have pieces, fragments, a feeling they can't attach to a specific moment, or a scene that's blurry around the edges. Your brain stored it either way, and your body is responding to it either way. We work with whatever comes up, clear or hazy, and your brain does the processing regardless.
